Description of Course: |
The qualification will be suitable for those in full-time education who wish to gain access to the iMedia industry. The target group is likely to include individuals preparing for careers in new media industries such as Web design, graphic art, multimedia production, flash animation, 3D animation, sound design and editing, special effects, video production, logo/titles design, desktop publishing, games design and story boarding.
Although there are no formal entry requirements for these qualifications, it is anticipated that, before embarking on this programme, potential candidates will be able to show evidence of creativity; demonstrate basic IT literacy and show an interest in developing their skills further.
All students must complete the mandatory unit:
Unit 1 Digital Graphics
You must complete two other optional units to achieve the Certificate:
Unit 2 Web authoring
Unit 3 Digital animation
Unit 4 Interactive multimedia concepts
Unit 5 Digital sound
Unit 6 Digital video
Unit 7 2D game engines
Unit 8 Game design
The iMedia qualification is assessed solely by the students coursework unit portfolios. There are no examination units. |
